Low-carbon repair mortars and masonry bed mortars combining supplementary cementitious material blending with the GX healing additive — for applications where mortar joint failure drives ongoing maintenance cost.
Mortar that reseals without re-mobilization
GX Mortar Series is formulated for masonry joint repointing, concrete surface repair, and new-construction mortar bed applications. The GX healing component embedded in the mortar matrix activates on moisture re-exposure — the same seasonal wetting and freeze-thaw cycle that causes standard repointing mortar to fail within 5–10 years of installation. The self-managed re-sealing targets the mechanism of failure rather than the visible symptom of it.
Clinker replacement through calcined clay and synthetic pozzolan blending maintains adequate early compressive strength for construction productivity (targeting ASTM C270 property method compliance) while reducing the embodied CO2 per tonne relative to OPC mortar equivalents. Three grades cover the standard masonry and repair spectrum: GXM-N, GXM-S, and GXM-R.
